Fibernetics Steps Their Way To Healthy Living
Encouraging health and fitness through the Global Corporate Challenge
CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO–(November 12, 2015) – Fibernetics is a place like no other, it’s an organization that inspires individuals to be the best that they can be. At the recent Culture Celebration 2.0, employees gathered to participate in an event which outlines major individual and organizational achievements, and ways in which the company culture can continue to help the corporation evolve and grow. One part of the ceremony was designated for recognizing the amazing efforts of individuals and the company as a whole during the Global Corporate Challenge (GCC).
The GCC is a 100-day challenge and it kicked off on May 27, 2015. Teams consisting of employees from various businesses world-wide competed by getting active and counting their daily steps. The GCC challenges individuals and teams during this health journey and rewards them by virtually travelling across the world, unlocking new geographical locations by covering a specific distance using a wearable fitness device.
Fibernetics placed fourth globally in its industry, with a total of 91,564,917 steps or 36,413 miles completed as a company. The company also had record participation as 112 employees (16 teams of 7) competed in the GCC. It was a challenge which Fibernetics was up for as, together, 3,674,144 calories were burned and the total reported weight loss was over 64 lbs. Team and Individual awards were handed out to recognize the employees and groups of individuals that were the most active, and most improved throughout the 100-day journey.
Jason Gotwalt – Senior Account Manager, Global Corporate Challenge:
[blockquote] “It was of no surprise to see over 65% of the Fibernetics team step-up to the GCC. John, Amanda and the rest of the leadership team have created a true “I’m In” culture – you can feel how much they care about their people as soon as you walk in the door.” “We are happy to be a partner with Fibernetics to help empower better lifestyle behaviors so each individual can thrive both personally and professionally.”[/blockquote]
The Culture Celebration 2.0 not only recognized great achievements on the quest to attain health and wellness but it also outlined the desire to continue reaching personal and organizational goals. Growth and passion are embedded within the culture at Fibernetics and health and happiness go hand in hand. President, John Stix, spoke to the staff throughout the day and encouraged everyone to continue to enhance their personal wellness, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Fibernetics is extremely pleased with the results from this year’s GCC and the company looks forward to not only meeting future fitness goals but surpassing them.
